Increase the number of students who think critically and solve problems
Since the fall of 2014:
10.26% fewer students needing intervention which translates into 356 students.
This is cumulative including the 4.5% drop reported last year.
Since the spring of 2012, 11.3% fewer K-6 students need intervention in reading, which translates into 381 students. This percentage has lowered every single year for five years.
2016: 78% of 3rd grade students feel they have the opportunity to work on real world problems in school.
2017: 80% of 3rd grade students and 72% of ALL students feel they have the opportunity to work on real world problems in school.
2018: 83% of 3rd grade students and 69% of ALL students feel they have the opportunity to work on real world problems in school
2016:89% of teachers in a typical 10-day period asked students to solve authentic problems.
2017: 89 % of teachers in a typical 10-day period asked students to solve authentic problems.

Increase frequency of integrated literacy practices in classrooms
2016: 90% of teachers in a typical 10-day period integrated activities involving the literacy framework.
2017: 86% of teachers in a typical 10 day period integrated activities involving the literacy framework.

Ensure continued excellence in district, state, and national assessments
2014-15 NeSA Summary Report showed that Westside Community Schools District scored higher than State scores in almost every category and grade.
2015-16 NeSA Summary Report showed that Westside Community Schools District scored higher than State scores in almost every category and grade.
5-year trends show that WHS graduates ACT scores consistently exceed state averages.
2015-16: WHS ACT scores increased while the state average decreased.
